The three biggest mistakes in business promotional portraits – aka head shots:
- Wrong time or place: a conference, party, social gathering, the bar, etc do not portray an air of success
- Wrong camera: a cell phone, point and shoot, etc takes nice snap shots – but snap shots also send the wrong message to potential clients
- Wrong photographer: your coworker, your cousin’s best friend, or that person who bought a camera a year ago and is now a ‘profesional photographer’ are not going to get a pleasing, profesional image which brings out your best features while implying you are “professional, honest and hardworking.” These are things a good head shot will say.
